Pere Anglada Artist based in Barcelona

Biography 

Pere was born in Ciutadella de Menorca, Balearic Islands. From a young age, Pere showed keen interests in various themes that he has since combined in his artworks throughout his life and professional path which span across: archaeology, binomial time-space, light, shadows…

At the age of 18 Pere left Menorca to settle in Barcelona to study telecommunication engineering, at the UPB motivated by a technical, scientific, and cosmological curiosity. Soon he found the ground to apply for performing arts training which set off the beginning of his professional career.

Later on in New York, Pere was trained in film, photography, lighting design and documentary.


Pere has since achieved professional success as a lighting designer for internationally renowned Spanish companies such as Els Joglars, Comediants, Fura dels Baus, Teatre Lliure, Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona, and Institut del Teatre.

In 2009 Pere joined the Institute of Culture of Barcelona (ICUB), where he was the technical director of the GrecFestival. In addition, he has also been technical director of other events organized by the ICUB, such as the Piromusical of the Festes de la Mercè or the New Year’s Eve Bells.

Pere’s works have been widely collected and exhibited in the United States, Hong Kong, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Scotland, Czech Republic, Turkey, South Korea, Brazil, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Portugal and Spain.
